The purpose of the position is to effectively manage a team that supports the Global Institutional Investment Systems’ (GIG) integrated Data Services environment, including data marts, data warehouses, data hubs and data quality. The Data Applications Development Manager will manage a team of 6-10 developers who are responsible for new data application development and/or improving existing data applications to meet the changing needs of our business in a global 24x7 environment. Specific assignments will include data application design and development management, managing test approval for enhancements, fixes, maintenance and support. This role will also lead teams for specific projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

Demonstrated ability and experience with the operational aspects of data warehousing, data hubs, data integration, data quality initiatives. Special emphasis on operational support of data warehousing and/or datamarts, and data quality initiatives. Knowledge of monitoring and capacity planning concepts and techniques. Strong data analysis skills. Ability to build technology roadmaps and strategies. Advanced knowledge of data application design principles, practices, systems development and analysis. Prior experience using a structured methodology. Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle. Thorough knowledge of project management, which includes the ability to define and delegate roles and tasks. Experience managing a team, including coaching, feedback and overall support. Strong verbal and written communication skills that non-technical end users can understand. The ability to create a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external clients.
